I swapped shifts and was then able to watch,you see 1am starts are not good from this side of the pond. I got Stella, JD and peanuts all ready in anticipation . The Mrs went to bed and I got ready for ESPN (one of the main reasons I subscribed) only to find it wasn't on ESPN .To say I was not happy is an understatement. However thanks to the power of streaming's I managed to find some good links and whey ho away we go. The beers went down and Luck was surprisingly picked #1 and RGIII #2 .well I say surprisingly but it it surprised me it took them so long as they were both locked in nailed on gimmes. The anticipation grew, as it does for you now, if you don't know who we got and the drama of pick #25 approached. The players people wanted around the Internet came and went and then it came 2 picks to go and we drafted..............................
oooops no we didn't we traded down.
so another beer was opened and another little Jack slug was poured ah well we pick at the end of the day.It was groundhog morning ha ha , the beers poured ,the anticipation grew and guess who we drafted ..........

The upshot was this, I missed a days overtime , I got drunk and then I went to bed at 6am with 0,zero,zilch picks in the bag and then at 830am the builders came in the house and I was up two and half hours later ,still drunk and very tired and then all day hangover arrived.
Anyway, the following nights we picked and I think overall we did very well and after google ,you tube and wikki read ups I think ,honestly, if everything works out we have the core of a very good rebuild.
Ok changing this around about a bit, I was chatting with a mate the other day and I was asked do the universities get paid for the kids they get in the NFL or is there a fund that subsidises this and you know what i have no idea about this. DAWKINS RETIRES
Brian Dawkins has announced his retirement via Twitter ......
He tweeted " The Lord has blessed me to play in the NFL for 16 years," Dawkins wrote. I would like to thank the Eagles & the Broncos 4 believing In me. I would like to thank all my teammates & Coaches that I have been blessed to go to battle with. Along with u, the fans 4 helping make my career 1 that I have enjoyed tremendously. In other words, I am announcing my retirement from the NFL."
It is rumoured the Eagles have contacted him with regards retiring as an Eagle where he is still regarded as one of their greatest ever players.I think this was always going to be the case and he will still always held in great esteem in the Bronco world.
He played three seasons in Denver where he played in 41 games, having 233 tackles , 5 sacks , 3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries. He went to the pro bowl 9 times and went as Bronco in 2 of these appearances. He will be sorely missed and unless we draft here I think we will have a huge hole to fill as we saw last season.
Coach Fox has since released this statement...
“Brian Dawkins is one of the best to ever play the game, a future Hall of Famer who changed the way his position is played. In many ways, he helped my job as a coach with his great leadership and preparation. He brought so much to the table, and was such an enormous asset to our football team.
“His contributions go far beyond the wins, interceptions, sacks and Pro Bowls he accumulated during his career. Brian is the definition of class, and is what you want in a leader. I know our players, coaches, fans and so many within the National Football League feel the same way.
“I competed against Brian for many years with the Giants and coached him once in the Pro Bowl, but to be around him every day for a season was truly special. I’m not sure there was a more respected guy in our building than Brian. He knows defence, he knows football, and he knows what it takes to win. I’ve got the utmost admiration for him as both a player and person.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to coach Brian. Although I will miss the positive impact he had on our team, I congratulate Brian on a tremendous career, and wish him and his family all the best going forward.”

Have You Passed The NFL Exam
Well according to nfl , BBC , and the New York Post websites amongst others have reported that if you have and dont pass their new $75 4 hour exam then you wont be going back.If you do then you will be charged with trespass.

IT COULD BE YOU NEXT????
OK before I start can I say I'm commenting only on rumours that have done the rounds and I'm in no way shape or form saying its true or happened .
What is it with football ( soccer if your from the USA ;) ) how can clubs allowed to be taken over by foreign owners ,well not just foreign to be fair about it and then for the Bigwigs of the FA to allow and watch as the clubs are systematically torn apart and ruined. We had Risdale at Leeds who saw them go from the last Division 1 winners and champions league semi (I think or 1/4 finalists,its a while since ) to the 3rd Division and almost into oblivion all in swoop.
In the last couple of years we have had Pompey ,who are still fighting for their lives and are on the brink of extinction. We have Rangers in Scotland who a couple of weeks ago went into admin with massive tax debts and other stuff that I have no idea about. In Spain Santander have also huge problems apparently with the fella that wanted to buy Blackburn Rovers.
My team are rumoured to have all sorts of problems with The Venky ownership. Rumours of not playing players because it costs too much in bonuses, rumours of tax issues , rumours again of not playing players because it triggers contract extension's, rumours of the manager (head coach like in NFL terms) being a stooge for the Venkys and that he is told who to play and who not play,all our best players have been sold and not replaced (well they have but with inferior standard players), rumours of the venkys not paying banks....like i said earlier these are rumours doing the rounds and I have seen no proof.
Could this only happen in football only or could it or has it happened in the NFL , MLB, NBA. rugby ,cricket etc.
Could an NFL franchise be taken over by owners from afar and then piece by piece be sold off for profit.I know theres no transfer money involved like in football but do trades involve under the table backhanders so to speak. Could an NFL team be stripped to the bones and go completely bust? If it did what would happen to the owners? are there rules in place to stop this?
Fans... What would you do if it happened to your club? would you stand up and protest against what was happening? Would the owners tell the manager to try and divide the fans and cause friction? Would ex players who have been legends at your club stand up for the owners and call the protesting people not fit to burn? would the media stick up the local club or would you just sit down shut up and do nothing.
I'm very interested in what NFL fans think or do you know of this happening to other clubs throughout the world. What can be done ?

WHERE AND WHO WILL WE DRAFT?
Normally you have a feel of who or at least what position we would be drafting in the upcoming draft (22 , I think days away) . Is it just me or is everyone else just wildly and randomly guessing . The only thing I have a gut feeling is that at some point we select Nick Foles and that is only on putting two and two together and coming up with 9.
Do we go RB in the opening round or do we gamble that McGahee doesn't start to lose a bit as he approaches 31 . Will Moreno be punished for his DUI ( to be honest I don't know the USA laws or NFL rules on this) or will pick one late and take a learning schedule to him?
Do we go linebacker with DJ having a 6 game drugs ban and also the time it takes for his game fitness to return?
Do we go safety? With the still unannounced status of Dawkins and the only others on the roster being Bruton, Moore and Carter ( my hunch is here ,who I have no idea :) ..broncoblue fence sitting )
This is no season like any other Bronco season and the craziness will continue I think. The only thing certain I think is we wont be trading up for the 2 QB's Luck or RG3 . They would be nailed on but hey its the crazy wild new Broncos haha.
In other news we have resigned Britton Colquitt according to Adam Schefter on his twitter account ,I'm pleased to read this.
Champ has been to New York for the Uni day and was inevitably asked about Tebowmania and he said the Bronco's dealt with it and he warned Sanchez to be on his game or Tebow would be challenging his starter spot.
John Elway told the Denver Post that the 4 time MVP manning "What I told Peyton is, what we do that's pretty much the same, it's yours," Elway said. "But you're probably going to have to learn what we've got."
The calls at the line of scrimmage? "It will be all him," Elway said of the four-time MVP..
